Our sourcing partners buy scrap at source in overseas markets and ship it to India: alloy solids, industrial offcuts, end-of-life machinery, cable and castings, mixed the way scrap always arrives.

02 Dismantled & segregated

One mixed lot in. Clean grades out.

At our Hospet yard every consignment is opened, dismantled and separated. Ferrous comes away from non-ferrous, and alloys are kept by family, so each buyer receives one consistent grade.

03 Delivered to the melt

Each grade goes where it melts best.

Alloy scrap goes directly to steel plants that need it in the charge. Ferrous and non-ferrous grades move through a nationwide trading network to foundries, mills and smelters, and to buyers overseas.

AS-01 · Core grade

Alloy steel scrap

High-quality alloy solids and offcuts, sourced worldwide and kept segregated by alloy family so the chemistry is known before it reaches the furnace. Melt shops recover the nickel, chromium and molybdenum already in the scrap and buy less ferro-alloy.

Our partners buy scrap at source in markets across the globe and ship it into India. Once a lot is segregated in Hospet, its grades are open to buyers anywhere: steel plants and foundries in India, and importers overseas.

The name

Soorma is the Hindi word for a warrior, the one who stands firm when the work is heaviest. Scrap is heavy, dirty, unglamorous work. We intend to do it properly.

Our yard sits in the industrial area of Hospet, at the heart of the Ballari–Hospet steel belt, one of India’s largest concentrations of steelmaking, and within road reach of ports on both coasts.
